In addition to and concomitantly with the above studies Dr. Harch has maintained a very active clinical hyperbaric medicine practice in the New Orleans area. The practice originally was confined exclusively to the 13 accepted UHMS indications, but has progressed over the years to a very concentrated application of HBOT to neurological applications. Dr. Harch performs phone consults and in-depth medical consultations at his clinic, SPECT brain imaging through West Jefferson Medical Center, and provides HBOT treatments for patients with neurological and non-neurological diseases. His patient population includes one of the largest and most diverse groups of neurological diseases, including seizure disorders.

Hyperbaric Oxygen
Treatment Research Opportunity
A formally approved study has been initiated
by Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital regarding
the effects of hyperbaric oxygen treatments
(HBOT) on development of children with cerebral
palsy. This randomized, controlled study
is currently recruiting subjects into the
research, according to an established timeline.
The study will include children with a diagnosis
of cerebral palsy between the ages of 8
months and 18 years, who have not previously
received HBOT. The Midwest Hyperbaric Institute
in Bolingbrook, Illinois is the study site
where all HBOT treatments will be provided
and research activities facilitated.
The Marianjoy Physician researchers leading
the study are Dr. Mary Keen and Dr. David
Pruitt, who would be happy to discuss this
research opportunity with you. They can be
contacted at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital
